Collection: Turquoise and Palm Wood

This collection was inspired by a book I received as a gift of a collection of Navajo and Pueblo earrings from 1850-1945. In this book, an array of intricately crafted rough pieces to not as rough pieces, all made completely by hand without any fancy tools. They are all so raw, unique, and beautiful. I created each piece of this collection with that same rough and rustic vibe, feeling the energy of the history of jewelry making, before we had the luxury of so many high-tech tools and techniques. It was fun to give them some grit and rustic flair, while trying to keep them completely my own style.

Turquoise is one of the oldest stones known in man's history. This stone of protection has spanned all cultures, prized as a symbol of wisdom, nobility, and power. 

Turquoise has been credited for centuries of having many powers, especially of protection, but also the bringing of happiness, good fortune and luck, creativity, and friendships. 

In Tibetan culture it is traditionally received as a gift in order to obtain its natural powers.
