Petrified Palmwood, or Palmoxylon, are fossils of wood from a type of Palm that lived tens of millions of years ago. Over time, the organic wood cells were replaced by minerals like silica, which turned this wood into a Quartz-like stone while keeping its original structure and design. The designs are so unique in each piece.
Native tribes used Petrified Palm wood to make all sorts of tools, including knives, points, and awls.
